I need the fellowship of Christian family in the middle of a week spent exposed to the world.
I draw strength from the teaching of God’s Word and the comments others make on the subject being studied.
Others need my encouragement and influence, and my presence can be so faith-building to them.
Bible class teachers have taken precious time to prepare and deliver their material.
I believe God is pleased with my making such a commitment and a sacrifice, though it’s so little compared to all that He has done for me.
It builds my interest in spiritual things.
I believe it helps contribute to the overall strength and influence of the local church.
It is an affirmation of the eldership’s wisdom to have such classes in the first place, where they seek to help give me spiritual food.
I live by the philosophy that I make time for what is most important and valuable.
My family is guided by my leadership and priorities.
I live in a nation that allows me to freely assemble to build and express my faith, and I do not want to take that for granted.
I have so many great memories of Wednesdays, and I continue to make them.
Though I have often arrived tired and frazzled, I have almost always left rejuvenated and rejoicing.
I want to.

Anoint My Head With Oil

I found this on my facebook feed and it makes perfect sense.

Anoint my head with oil

“Sheep can get their head caught in briers and die trying to get untangled. There are horrid little flies that like to torment sheep by laying eggs in their nostrils which turn into worms and drive the sheep to beat their head against a rock, sometimes to death. Their ears and eyes are also susceptible to tormenting insects. So the shepherd anoints their whole head with oil. Then there is peace. That oil forms a barrier of protection against the evil that tries to destroy the sheep. Do you have times of mental torment? Do the worrisome thoughts invade your mind over and over? Do you beat your head against a wall trying to stop them? Have you ever asked God to anoint your head with oil? He has an endless supply! His oil protects and makes it possible for you to fix your heart, mind, and eyes on Him today and always! There is peace in the valley! May our good good Father anoint your head with oil today so that your cup overflows with blessings! God is good and He is faithful!!”

Learning To Be Happy

I just re-read something I found a bit ago. It goes something like this, “Every Day you must unlearn the ways that hold you back. You must rid yourself of negativity, so you can learn to fly.”
How many of us without thinking allow the negative into our lives, allow things that may not ever take place worry us to the point we cannot sleep. What we are doing is cheating ourselves and others of a quality of life. We spend so much time thinking about the negative in our life we fail to see the ways we can fly.
What would have happened if Christ had lived his life in a negative manner? How many people would he have reached? He knew his future; he knew his fate. We on the other hand only know that some day we will know longer be on this earth.
Do we want to be remembered for the fact that we found nothing to be positive about? Do we want to be remembered for our negative attitude about ourselves and others? Or do we want to fly? Do we want to influence others to shine as they see our light?
I for one choose to be positive no matter what happens in my life. I choose to believe that all things have a purpose and how I perceive that purpose determines my perspective on my life.
Negative things, people or happenstance have no room in our ability to fly. They act as an anchor to hold us down. While we may not be able to change the happenstance, people or things we can choose to not be negative, we can choose to fly.
I choose to FLY!!!!!! Who wants to fly with me?
