I am always seeing and reading things that inspire me. Especially as I get older and see the young and beautiful walk around. Growing up I never felt beautiful. In fact, if the truth be known I always felt ugly. I was never taught that as a female, I was created in the image of the most beautiful entity around. I was created in the image of God. And he is beautiful.
In honor of Mother’s Day, I wanted to say to all the women out there, each of you are beautiful. You are beautiful in a way that can never be taken from you. You were created in the image of God and he is beautiful. You are created with his essence, his goodness, his beauty.
I know we from habit get up and look in the mirror and we see the face staring back at us and maybe sometimes it even appears to scare us. Look past that, look at the eyes and the soul that shines through. Look at the beauty that shines from within.
Even as youth and outward beauty fade, the wrinkles creep in, the hair takes on its own life form and the body sags, we are beautiful. We are God’s children. We are created in his image; we are created with his beauty. Let it shine, wear it proudly, revel in it, embrace it. Own it. He gave it to us, and it makes us unique.
Remember a beautiful face will change and a perfect body will age, but a beautiful soul will always be a beautiful soul. And that beauty will never fade, never wrinkle, never sag and never age. It only gets more beautiful.
